Different aspects make a season “good” or “bad,” including the holidays, weather, school breaks and outdoor activities that go along with that specific season. The four seasons, fall, summer, spring and winter are all unique in their own way, making some seasons more enjoyable in comparison to the others.
Without a doubt, the best season is summer because it has everything you could ever want in a season. From the long school break to the warm weather, it has it all. Summer break is a time of three uninterrupted months with nothing to do except relax. Along with the break from school, the warm weather really brings summer over the other seasons. The 80-90 degree temperatures allow for lake days, tanning and summer sports, which are arguably some of the best activities in life.
Coming in the number two spot is fall. One aspect of fall that sets it above the other seasons is the football games. Especially for high schoolers, the weekly football games allow for an easier transition into the school year, giving students something to look forward to during the week. One holiday to look forward to during fall is Halloween. Halloween is one of the best holidays of the year as kids can dress up as whatever they want to be and eat as much candy as their stomachs can hold. No matter how old a child is, Halloween has fun activities for all ages. One activity that keeps people busy during the Fall months is going to pumpkin patches and apple orchards. There, one can buy delicious caramel apples and pumpkins for their yearly pumpkin carving. This abundance of activities allows for an eventful three months of the year, securing fall its number two spot.
Third place must go to spring. Because not much happens in the spring, it is the second worst season. Although the lack of activities makes Spring pretty boring, it is the most relaxing season. Between the months of March to May, the weather gets warm again, plants blossom and, best of all, school ends.
In last place is winter. Including the coldest months, winter is widely unpopular. This season is often accompanied by seasonal depression for many, with few things to look forward to. The sun sets before dinner time and rises after students have started their school day. Winter is not all bad; as it is the perfect time for skiers and snowboarders, many prefer winter solely for this reason. Most importantly, cold temperatures and short days signify the start of the holiday season, Christmas.
