With rumors of pregnancies and proposals circulating, the 2025 Golden Globes was quite the spectacle. It took place on Jan. 5, 2025, at 7 p.m. CST, and as always, many celebrities rolled up to the red carpet in show-stopping designer looks. So…..what happened?
Held in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, the 82nd annual award ceremony was hosted by Nikki Glaser, who did an amazing job throwing out jokes left and right letting them land nicely (or meanly). While these jokes insulting A-list celebrities are being thrown, the camera pans to the crowd and we see assigned seating at circle tables and small talk between them, but most focused on a specific couple. The internet has gone crazy with speculation about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s relationship, and whether or not Jenner is pregnant. This is still up in the air and has not been confirmed. Another rumor was about Zendaya’s ring finger. On the red carpet, the actress wore an elegant custom-made Louis Vuitton dress and a ring to match, hinting at her engagement with actor Tom Holland.
The Golden Globes award categories range from best animated movie to best actor/actress and this year was predictable for one of them. The new Musical-Movie ‘Wicked’ directed by Jon M. Chu, unsurprisingly won the award for cinematic and box office achievement and actresses Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were nominated for actress in a musical or comedy motion picture (Erivo) and supporting actress in a motion picture (Grande). Overall, this is a massive success for part one of this amazing story.
There was not one dry eye in the crowd as Demi Moore delivered her acceptance speech when winning actress in a musical or comedy motion picture for her role as Elisabeth Sparkle in ‘The Substance’ directed by Coralie Fargeat. In this improvised speech, Moore depicted the rough side of acting and getting put down by teachers and loved ones, referencing how she was referred to as a “popcorn actor.” She then inspires many to become great and believe in themselves. “In those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough or basically just not enough, I had a woman say to me ‘Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick’,” said Moore according to The Golden Globes. Shockingly, with about 45 years of experience and work, this is her first time winning anything as an actress. Whether at the Golden Globes or the Oscars, with new movies coming up in the next year, old and new actors and actresses will be winning awards for their outstanding performances.
