Imagine it. The tile on the ground cracked and ready for renovation, legs bouncing in anticipation and heads buried in textbooks. The last few weeks of school are here and semester tests are at our fingertips. But how to survive… here is a guide on how to survive the last few days of school.
Number 1: Getting enough sleep. While yes, pulling a few all-nighters for your semester test may seem good at the moment, it will not turn out that way when you show up to school and your eyebags are showing the hollow depths of your mind after sleepless nights. Sleeping is food for the mind; it helps it run and keeps you sane. You do not want to be slouched over the desk with a teacher poking at your arm to wake you up. That is just embarrassing. Go to bed at a reasonable time, no, that does not mean 3 a.m., and try to sleep the whole night.
Number 2: Do not stress yourself out. With AP tests currently taking place, many students are stressing themselves out and getting gray hairs way too early. This is the same with semester tests: a quick review is good, but it is never good to study to the point where your eyes cannot focus anymore. Take a deep breath and realize that you have done this the whole year or semester. You know your stuff.
Number 3: Pay attention in class. The year is ending, and kids are eager to get out and hang out with friends without a care in the world, but the year is not over just yet. Get your mind out of the clouds and back to chemistry class with Dr. Christopher Cameron or finish that final project for Ms. Regan Meyer. Remember, no phones during class, and that means Block Blast. You can do that at home, not in class when the teacher is going over dodecagons.
Number 4: Be positive. Try not to complain about your teachers, they are also counting down the days till school is over. They know how you feel, and so does everyone else. Do not be the person to bring the class’s spirit down. Whether you feel like the weeks are dragging by or they are going by in a flash, be positive.
Here are your four survival tips to survive the rest of the school year. Remember to use them wisely and implement them into your life forever, these can go farther than the school year.
