On Sept 3, 2025, Sioux Falls welcomed a new cafe to the Downtown area in the Bancorp Building at Cherapa Place. Café Breadico was opened by the owners of Breadico, a bakery that has been in operation since 2019. It has since been known for its signature sourdough pastries, along with its unique coffee.
The cafe is located in an aesthetically pleasing destination with an overview of the Big Sioux River. with many distinctive areas outdoors The cafe is an amazing spot to sit down, get a coffee, a snack and get some homework done, and relax overall.
LHS junior Kenley Berning has been working at the original Breadico for almost two years and has just transferred over to the new cafe.
“I really enjoy the people I work with; it feels like a second family, honestly makes me excited to go to work,” said Berning.
Breadico usually consists of 2-4 employees working in the front serving people and taking orders, and two bakers in the back making all the food. One may find Berning working once a week and every weekend.
Not only does Breadico satisfy you with many pastries and coffees, it also has breakfast options like freshly made sourdough bagels with cream cheese, yogurts and quiche. They also have a wide variety of lunch sandwiches featuring unique, intense flavors. Overall, the opening of Cafe Breadico has been successful, and the cafe seems to have a bright future.
