Throw out your flip flops, invest in a sensible pair of boots and buckle up because I am about to give you a quick rundown on all of this year’s fall fashion.

It’s official,  the fall color this year is red. Debuted at Fall Fashion Week, one could see anything from red Givenchy trench coats to crimson thigh-high Fendis. Not only is red in, but so is plaid. That is right; it is time to let out your inner Cher Horowitz. It seems like all the popular trends from our parents’ days are coming back: velvet, corduroy, jumpsuits. Velvet corduroy jumpsuits. It is all back in.

However, if you are feeling a more modern approach to fall fashion, you can never go wrong with a simple sweater dress and a pair of knee-high boots. Some affordable but chic dresses are available from Forever 21, or if you are looking for a more expensive outfit, try Revolve.

Another alternative to a simple, classic fall look would be a pair of distressed jeans and a cute sweater paired with a scarf. Add some ankle booties and BAM you have a chic autumn outfit.

For guys, fall fashion is even easier. You have about two options: khakis and a sweater/flannel, or jeans and a flannel/sweater. It is lightwork, and you will be guaranteed to have a successful cuffing season.
