Dangers of becoming a “vape god”

Kate Fehrs, Staff Writer

Sitting in the LHS parking lot before and after school there is a high chance that you will see cars filling up with white clouds. What possibly could be those white clouds? If you guessed vape clouds, you are most definitely right.

Teenagers are obsessing over becoming “vape gods” after seeing how many different vape tricks there are to do. It has become the new sensation of this generation. Teens are becoming addicted to vaping all day every day, because of the nicotine that is in vape juices.

Vape pens were originally created to help cigarette smokers quit smoking. The creators of the vape pen tried to recreate the feeling of tobacco smoking while making sure it is less harmful to your body. The benefits of vaping over smoking are present, for example, there are no odors with vaping. But, what many people are blind to is that there are still dangers that come along with vaping.

Many teenagers that vape do not realize that an e-cigarette could possibly be harmful to you. The last thing that crosses a teens mind when they are vaping is what it is doing to their body, rather they are thinking of it as fun and the cool thing to do.

Some of the dangers of vaping include:

-Most vapes contain nicotine (the same drug that is found in cigarettes)

-Vapes can cause injuries (vape malfunctions)

-Aerosol from the vape can harm the body

Vaping is indeed less harmful than smoking regular cigarettes but is becoming a “vape god” really worth it?
