The LHS boys baseball season kicked off in late March, and they have played a sizeable amount since then. Although they lost a handful of seniors from the previous year, the team is looking forward to the season’s possibilities.

The Pats have played six games, three being in state teams and the other three being out of state teams who they played at a tournament in Lawrence, Kansas. Out-of-state games do not count for the Pat’s record and eventual seeding going into state, which is likely why they are playing such high caliber teams. Their in state record is 2-1, and they have played OGHS once and HHS twice.

The Pats still have around seven games left, so they have a lot of time to improve as a team and hopefully keep winning games. As of now, the boys are ranked ninth in the class A baseball standings.

Alex Glanzer, senior and shortstop for the Pats, is looking forward to what the season holds. Senior, Oliver Lockwood-Powell, has the same anticipations for the year.

“I’m really excited to be back with all my friends,” said Glanzer. “It’s a fun game I really enjoy playing. I really want to be a leader and limit any errors.”

“I wanna make a run for the state championship this year,” said Lockwood-Powell. “Hopefully we will do the best we can at state, and we will win the whole thing.”
