Tonight on Cartoon Network, “Steven Universe” will be premiering its third installment of a release of episodes, known by fans as a “Steven Bomb.” “Steven Universe” is a 15- minute long cartoon show that focuses on the adventures of Steven Universe, a 14-year-old human-gem breed, along with the Crystal Gems who all swear to protect Earth from the Homeworld Gems.

Leaving off with season two, there are a many significant events to expect next season. First and foremost, fans should anticipate development on the seemingly vanished Malachite, a toxic fusion and bond between the gems Lapis Lazuli and Jasper. The Crystal Gems have been looking vehemently in order to find the fusion, but all efforts have seemed to have gotten them nowhere. However, in the season three preview, it featured a short clip of Malachite rising from the ocean, hinting to fans that Malachite will make an appearance this next season.

Additionally, fans should also keep an eye out for the Cluster, a Gem geo-weapon being grown in the mantle of the Earth. It has been discovered throughout season two that should the Cluster emerge, the earth would be destroyed. Despite all the gems efforts, the cluster has only continued growing. We have seen that in a last-ditch effort, the Crystal Gems have created a drill and plan to dig into the mantle and physically destroy the Cluster.

Finally, the last important thing that fans should pay attention to is Yellow Diamond, one of the highest regarded gems in the gem hierarchy. In the second to last episode of season two, Peridot, a stranded homeworld gem, had contacted Yellow Diamond hoping that Yellow Diamond would get her off Earth. Though, in the middle of the call, Peridot had a change of heart and naively asked Yellow Diamond to mechanically stop the growth of the gem geo-weapon. Unfortunately, her challenge of Yellow Diamond’s authority angered her and only accelerated the Homeworld Gems’ efforts to grow the cluster and destroy earth.

Ultimately, the huge success and overly positive reception of seasons one and two are a testament to how well season three is expected to perform. Fans and new viewers should expect just as well of a performance from season three of “Steven Universe.”
