Madison Landon is one of the star players for the LHS soccer team and has proven that she, along with her sister, has carried her team thus far during this soccer season. With her 15 goals this season, she is easily one of the top contenders in the state for the most goals this year. Playing midfielder and forward, Landon gets the opportunity to chase down the ball and make a run for the goal.

LHS varsity soccer coach Steve Burckhalter believes that her presence has been crucial to the LHS soccer team this year.

“Madison has been a vital member of the soccer program since first stepping onto the field as a freshman in the fall of 2013,” said Burckhalter. “She has been instrumental in much of the success our program has had during her time at Lincoln. This year she has started and played in all of our varsity games. She is our leading scorer and has been directly involved in many of our scoring opportunities and is highly skilled, very clever, crafty and demonstrates a superb level of soccer intelligence.”

Landon’s above average skills are not limited to just the soccer field, as she has shown leadership in more ways than one. Being a senior this year, she gets to showcase her talents on the field and be a mentor for the underclassmen.

“Madison helps our team both on and off the field because of her tremendous character and leadership qualities that resonate with all of our players,” said Burckhalter. “She provides a great model for what it is to be motivated, reliable, hard-working, positive, energetic, disciplined, friendly, passionate and game effective. Madison is an outstanding student-athlete at Lincoln High School. She is a 4.0 student and plans to attend Michigan State University where she will pursue a pre-med track. Athletically, she is a fierce competitor who brings great skill, energy and enthusiasm to every training session and game. She a tremendous teammate who leads by example and is often the first to arrive at any team function.”
