The future of car technology
September 22, 2016
Pure electric cars are futuristic inventions that are now becoming a part of our age. Right now there are multiple companies that produce hybrids, a combination of gas and electric. Tesla, however, is the first company to provide America with fully electric cars and are growing now more than ever. Since coming out with their new Tesla Model S, it has become the quickest production car in the world. Their other popular models are the Model X, as well as the new Model 3 which can be ordered, but has not been released.
Electric cars are solely electric, meaning there is no gas involved in the equation. This means, depending on the model, the car must be charged every night. Certain models do have more charge and can last longer. Basically an electric car is like a cell phone. For example the new iPhone 7 will keep its charge longer the the iPhone 5, but they both need to be recharged by the end of the day.
The Tesla company is frequently creating new inventions and technology to help make lives easier. Some of the newer features that are offered in their cars include adaptive lighting, bio-weapon defence mode and autopilot. To elaborate on these features, adaptive lighting will enable the headlights to change along with the lighting outside, the bio-weapon defence mode allows for a medical grade HEPA air filtration system to filter out contaminants and the autopilot provides the car with the capabilities to steer, change lanes and manage speed while driving. This is a only small list of examples; Teslas can come equipped with many other features.
Several other companies are now beginning to work towards producing partially or all electric cars. Tesla is the leader now, but time will only show how much the market for this type of vehicle is growing. Ideas people only dreamed about are becoming realities right in front of our eyes. From hoverboards, to wireless headphones to cars that can drive themselves, we are entering a new era of technology.
