Time will tell for the Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have started their new NBA season this Wednesday with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. During the start of the game, the Timberwolves were showing out like they were a super team. They started off the game with a solid 20-3 lead against a few of the best offensive players in the game: Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph coming off the bench. However, the Timberwolves ended up losing the battle, but played solid throughout the game.

With recently added head coach Tom Thibodeau, one of the best defensive minded coaches in the league, defense has been the main focal point for this young and resilient team.  Being ranked one of the worst

teams in about every category last year, the Minnesota hopefuls are hoping for a better overall team, and maybe even a playoff picture. In the game against the Grizzlies, the big three of Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine all showed out on Wednesday night with all of them scoring above 18 points, and all snatching at least three rebounds. The young guns were looking hungry for the new season under a new coaching staff and new teammates.

Beside the fact of new teammates, the departure of Timberwolves legend, Kevin Garnett, has had many fans sad that an era has come to an end. Also the fact that one of the best power forwards to play the game will not be there to mentor our new power forward of the future, Karl-Anthony Towns. With Towns being the future centerpiece, fans wonder if his progress will have the same mentality as he did with Garnett. Until then, we can just hope for a better season than the last, and try to make a playoff for the first time since 2004.
