Backlash to Donald Trump’s inauguration has spurred around the U.S. People have been protesting Trump by trying to address a variety of different topics. More than one million people have gathered around the U.S. to protest Trump and are showing the true democracy of the U.S.

“Welcome to your first day, we will not go away!” marchers in Washington chanted, according to ABC news.

Women’s rights have been the main topic of the rallies, with people like Gloria Steinem, a women’s rights activist, and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, present at the marches. Many celebrities have also been present holding signs and chanting. Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Blake Lively are just a few of the well-known faces that were present at the rallies.

Not only have women’s rights been addressed at the rallies, there has also been support for Muslims, Mexican immigrants and environmentalists, all of which Trump has mocked or made derogatory comments about.

Over 750,000 protesters marched in Los Angeles and about 400,000 in New York City. Many protesters have also gathered in Atlanta, Denver and St. Paul.

“President Trump, I did not vote for you,” said Scarlett Johanson on NY Times. “I want to be able to support you. But first I ask that you support me. Support my sister. Support my mother. Support my best friend and all of our girlfriends.”

The marches are not expected to die down soon, and will continue to address all sorts of important topics.
