Best all time talk show hosts
February 9, 2017
There are plenty of talk shows that stream throughout the weekday. From Dr.Phil, to “The Daily Show,” there are a variety of ways that people are entertained by the hosts of these shows. Of all the talk shows in the world, my top two are “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
First Jimmy Fallon. He started off his career in the entertainment as a stand-up comic, and then eventually landed a job as a cast member of “Saturday Night Live.” For six years he was a successful cast member and was a part of various sketches on the show each Saturday night. In 2009, Fallon’s first show aired with guests Robert De Niro and Justin Timberlake. At first, fans were skeptical of the new host who had just taken over Conan O’Brien’s late-night talk show, but he eventually became a popular host and many of his segments have earned millions of views on YouTube. In 2013, just five years later, Fallon announces he will become the new host of “The Tonight Show,” taking Jay Leno’s expired contract. Segments such as “The History of Rap with Justin Timberlake” and “‘EW!’” have become widely popular and helped make Fallon the king of late night shows.
Moving onto Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen also started off her career as a stand-up comedian. She then moved on to starring in her own sitcom “Ellen.” This eventually led up to hosting her award-winning talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” starting in 2003. DeGeneres is one of the most well-known advocates for LGBTQT rights when she came out in 1997. She is known for her kind acts and good sense of humor. Whether she is giving a family in need money to help get their kid through college, or previewing her segment “What’s Wrong with These Photos?” Ellen is sure to brighten any viewers day, which is why she is so widely popular among TV buffs.
Both Fallon and DeGeneres are perfect examples of the greatest talk show hosts of our time. Their exuberant personalities have guaranteed great shows, and will continue to do so throughout their careers.
