Can you imagine your iPhone without a bezel? Or without a home button? The iPhone Edition may be adding all of these features and more in late 2017.

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation on when the new iPhone will be released and what new features will be added. First of all, the iPhone Edition will not be released with Apple’s normal lineup in fall. Instead, it will be released in late 2017 or even early 2018. According to EverythingApplePro, this is due to Apple developing new features for the iPhone Edition that will not be included on the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s+.

The first feature that will be added to the iPhone Edition is a fingerprint scanner on the screen of the phone and the removal of the home button. This means that opening the iPhone Edition would be as simple as tapping the bottom of the screen. The feature would also make the phone much faster to open.

A second feature that Apple is expected to add to the phone is wireless charging. This would mean the user would no longer have to worry about broken or twisted cables or finding the charging cord in the dark. Along with wireless charging, Apple is expected to add fast charging. A feature that many current phones have but the iPhone does not. This feature would be added to all three of the iPhones coming out in 2017 and is not only exclusive to the iPhone Edition.

Finally, Apple will be making some modifications to the body of the phone. According to macrumors.com, the iPhone Edition will have a 5.8” display compared to the 4.7” display of the current iPhone 7. The display will also reach from one side of the phone to the other and will have no bezel on the sides. The phone is also expected to have an all glass body.

However, all of these new features come with a price. The iPhone Edition is expected to cost upwards of $1,000. The iPhone Edition is comparable to the ceramic Apple Watch Edition in the sense that they are both geared to be luxury items.
