Ain’t stinkin Lincoln no more

Our LHS community is thrilled to see what this year’s track team has to offer, after their state championship last year, for the boys and girls. They have continued to place and stand out, now that we are into the middle of the season. With high hopes, there is pressure on the high performing athletes.

This last week, Brandon hosted the most recent track meet. Some speedy athletes that represent LHS, once again proved their place. A couple of the top runners consist of, Colin Brison, a junior, and Gabe Peters, a senior, Courtney Klatt, a junior, Ryley Heier, a junior and Caroline Sudbeck, a freshman. Some other highlights consist of the 4×100 team placing first with the time of 43.89. Furthermore, the boys 4×800 relay finishing with a 8:19.95. Brison claimed the 200m dash win, with a time of 22.88. Also Peters finished first in the 3200m run, running a 9:45.98 time.

Not only did the boys claim their territory, but the girls also proved what they have to offer. Klatt placed first for the 3200m run, with a time of 11:43.92. The 4×800 relay team scored first place, as usual, and created a new meet record with a time of 9:46.34. To add to the wins, the 4×400 team took the top of the podium, with a run of 4:06.69. Finally, Heier won the 300m hurdles, with a time of 49.25.

On the field side of things, they also proved what LHS has to offer. I would recommend going out to support your peers, as they strive on the track. It is exciting to see what the rest of their season holds and has to offer.
