Jacob Alvine with the “Thumbs up” pose after solidifying his greatness with his answer of the year

Oliver Lockwood-Powell, Staff Writer

Q: Who do you think will win the NBA finals and why?

  1. Freshman, Chase Helland – “I think the Boston Celtics because Isaiah Thomas is going to go off.”

  1.   Senior, Jacob Alvine- “I want to say the LA Clippers but I am going to go off on a limb here. I have said this since day one, the Washington Wizards and the San Antonio Spurs will be in the NBA Finals. I know you think I am crazy but just wait. The reason I picked the Wizards is because they are playing a weak Atlanta Hawks team and will easily be able to beat them, and once they beat them, they head onto one of the worst one seeds in playoff history, the Boston Celtics. After beating them in 5-6 games, they will get to the Conference Finals where they will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers. When that happens, I feel like one of the big three on the Cavs will get hurt early in the series, maybe LeBron. I know it doesn’t happen a lot to him but something is bound to happen which will give the Wizards a cakewalk to the Finals where they will play the San Antonio Spurs. In the Western conference I have the Spurs because they are just simply the best, screw the Golden State Warriors. Overall, I think the San Antonio Spurs will beat the Washington Wizards 4-1 in five games, you heard it here first.”

  1.   Junior, Britten Blount – “I second what Jacob Alvine said.”

  1.    Sophomore, Chloe Crissman – “Definitely Golden State Warriors because you just cannot guard Stephen Curry.”
