Making America great: Trump’s first 100 days of presidency

Oliver Lockwood-Powell, Staff Writer

Since the beginning of his campaign, president Donald Trump has been hated on and seemed to be the underdog. When it came election time on Nov. 8, 2016, Trump overcame adversity and powered through to become the 45th president of the great United States of America.

Through Trumps first 100 days, the newly addressed president has made some drastic changes in the economy, the safety of the U.S. and other countries and the well-being of the people inside of it. Although holding the record for the longest stretch in which his cabinet has not been put into place, he has been taking matters into his own hands and has been involved in many foreign affairs far away and around our own borders.

The unpopular move of him deciding to build the great Mexican-American border has had many Americans divided on whether it is humane or not. Trump has said many times that he will make it happen and he will “make America great again.”

Another bold move made by President Trump was the bombing of Syria. He sent one of the biggest non-nuclear bombs in the history of bombs into an ISIS territory killing dozens of ISIS members because the Syrian government decided to use chemical warfare against its own citizens back in March.

Not only is he heavily involved already in the protection of the U.S. with foreign affairs, he is also boosting the U.S. economy by making American jobs available by lowering the unemployment rate and also spending American money on American goods instead of sending money out to different countries, making them stronger. His level of job creation has excelled in his first two months, creating nearly 317,000 jobs for Americans, compared to Barack Obama taking away roughly 1,525,000 jobs in the U.S. during his first two months.

From cutting away at the national deficit to creating thousands of jobs for Americans, Trump has shown that he is a very strong leader that will do anything to make America the strongest nation in the world, and prove that he was the right pick to make America great again.
