Eight teams every year from the Western conference and Eastern conference make it to the playoffs in the NBA. Each team they are matched with is set to play the best of seven series. Once a team loses a series, they are out.

This year, the first round of the Western side’s playoffs included Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trailblazers, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies. So far, Golden State has not lost a single playoff game, sweeping both the Trailblazers and the Jazz. Their next match up includes Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors pulled off a win in the opener of the semifinal series by two points, 113-111. Game two of the Western Conference semifinals will begin tomorrow at Oracle Arena.

As for the Eastern Conference, the match ups included Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers. Much like the Warriors, the Cavs have yet to lose a game, sweeping the Pacers and Raptors. An exciting game will happen tonight, as the Wizards travel to the Garden to face the Celtics in game seven of their series. Whoever wins this game tonight will have to face Kyrie Irving and the Cavs in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

My hope is the Celtics win because I am a huge fan of point guard Isaiah Thomas. “Mr Fourth Quarter” as he has been called has really shown. His postseason stats stand at 25.1 ppg, and 6 apg. Not only that, Thomas had to deal with the tragic loss of his sister right before one of his playoff games. Then, on top of that, he had his tooth knocked out and had to undergo hours of surgery to fix his mouth. All of this and he is still putting up big numbers. MVP may be a three-way tie this year so Russell Westbrook and James Harden should look out for IT.
