At LHS, 22 credits are required to graduate and it is possible to earn 24 credits if no classes are failed throughout four years of attendance. Because of this, it is important to get off on a good foot freshman year and it is evident that Principal Robert Grimm is determined to do his best at making struggling students succeed.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, LHS sponsored a pasta feed for the freshmen failing one or more classes and their families. The purpose of the banquet was to show the families that the school cared about their children’s education and future. Counselors, Student Council members, teachers and other staff volunteered to converse with the kids and their parents and help serve food.

Half-way through the banquet,Grimm gave a short speech to the families in attendance. He thanked parents for their efforts in getting their children to school and also encouraged them to stay involved in their student’s academic life. He ended by stressing how important it is to get a good start in high school and urged them to come to him to work out any problems their child might have in school.
