After taking a season off, the ABC Television Network is bringing back the popular singing show, American Idol, with new judges, a new look and brand new contestants ready to make their dreams come true.

The nationwide search for the next American Idol kicked off in August traveling everywhere from Portland, OR. to Orlando, Fl. They covered 23 states all over the country in search of amazing talent. In the past, contestants for American Idol could only get a golden ticket and make it to Hollywood if they audition live in front of the judges in the city of their choice.

After American Idol took a year off, they made many changes that allow many more opportunities to make people’s dreams come true. People can now submit audition videos online and also through social media by using the tag #TheNextIdol, which cultivated over 300,000 posts. Also, for the first time ever, some contestants got to audition for the judges through a live stream platform.

Not only did the style of American Idol go through some minor changes, so did the judges. In the past years of American Idol they had music icons like Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Paula Abdul, Keith Urban and many more. Each judge had their own original style for almost every contestant to have someone to look up to. This year, the judges have all kinds of music styles including country, pop and even R&B. The judges this year include Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie whom all have never been on American Idol before and claim they can not wait for the new adventure to begin. Although they have new judges this season, one thing remains the same. Ryan Seacrest will come back to host American Idol for the 16th year.

Although there have been many changes to the singing competition, many of the fans are eager to see the hit show return to television screens everywhere.
