Fortnite takes over the gaming world
January 16, 2018
“Fortnite Battle Royale” is quickly becoming one of the most popular alternatives to the hit game, Fortnite. This title is based on “Fortnite,” a third-person cooperative, base-defense game that lets players collect resources to construct a base during the day and then defend it at night from hordes of enemies.
In “Fortnite,” you craft all of your equipment, including weapons, ammo, walls and other traps to help fend off waves of enemies. The crafting involved is making basic walls, ramps, stairs and flat surfaces. “Fortnite Battle Royale” is all of that together but you end up getting dropped onto an island where your enemies are other online players. This mode supports up to 100 players with the option of playing with yourself or with teams.
While running around, you’ll collect resources: such as wood, stone, metal and other tools to help you live. You can knock down nearly any standing object in the game helping you to receive those materials or shimmering treasure chests that contain loot like health items or tools, but also floor traps that can be used to catch other players.
The goal of “Fortnite Battle Royale” is to attempt being the last man or team standing as others hunt different players and avoid being defeated themselves. The challenge of this all is that all players start with no equipment outside of an axe for resource gathering. In January the game hit over 40 million downloads as it became free to play on the PC. It also is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Mac operating systems. Grab some friends, download or buy the game for a console and enjoy a smooth working game that has servers with millions.
