The unknown future of ad-room

A Grimm awakening?

LHS Principal, Robert Grimm, has been using his fresh perspective to spice things up for student body and staff alike.

As the 2017-2018 school year enters its second half, LHS Principal Robert Grimm continues to do his best at making improvements to the school’s inner workings. However, many are concerned with the rumors that ad-room may disappear within the next year.

Grimm firmly believes that of all things, ad-room is not the best way to be spending time.

“My current opinion of it is probably what most people’s opinion of it would be. It’s waste time. Now, some people probably go through it and they read and they take pleasure in it and they enjoy the connection they have with their peers when they go through all four years. But the purpose of school is to educate and it’s to ensure that we maximize our time.”

In Grimm’s drive to improve the daily schedule, social time does not make the cut.

“If I go into your classroom for AP chemistry, I dont think Jaws takes five or seven minutes just so that we can connect and like each other. He teaches from bell to bell… So why would I build [that] into the day?”

Grimm suggests that teachers are in agreeance with the removal of ad-room.

“If I gave [the teachers] an extra couple of minutes at the end of the period, they’d be thrilled. That’s what teachers want, they want time. I don’t think we’ve used it as wisely as we should have. It might have served a certain purpose years ago, but right now we have too much on our plate that we need to get through.”

Though its time at LHS appears to be limited, there are currently plans within the Student Council to start a discussion between the students and Grimm on the subject.
