Disney streaming service to be released in 2019

As much as we all love Disney and Netflix, the combination of the two will soon come to an end. Last year, Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, announced that the company would be removing its movies from all streaming services in hopes that they would create their own.
The biggest question about the upcoming streaming service is what to expect. Since the company owns rights to Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar, all existing and future movies and tv shows will be available. However, the company also wants to keep everything family friendly and will not allow anything with an R rating to be streamed. Anything that does not meet this criteria will be filtered to Hulu.
The idea that all Disney movies will be removed from Netflix angers some users because they do not want to pay for more than one streaming service from different types of movies.
“I think it’s an awful idea,” said senior Sharon Zere. “I don’t want to pay for a different streaming service I want it to be all on one for my convenience.”
On the other end of the spectrum, potential users think it is a good step forward for Disney. They are able to look past the possible double pricing of double streaming services.
“They are such a prominent company in they movie industry,” said senior Isaac Woods. “I think it will go well for them.”
