Spoiler Alert! “Bachelor” Finale: Week 10
March 7, 2018
The time has come for the longest and most dramatic episode of “The Bachelor” I have ever seen. “The Bachelor” finale had jaws dropping from everyone around the country with something no one has ever seen before.
The time had come where the final two women get to meet Arie’s family. Lauren was the first to meet the family, and even though her timid personality is hard to break through, Arie’s family really took a liking to her. When Arie’s family told him how impressed they were with Lauren, he thought his decision was made, but that’s when Becca came and completely won over his family. It was quite obvious that Arie’s family thought Becca was the girl that fits the best in Arie’s life, but that still didn’t make the decision any easier for him.
The episode continued with a last date for each of the women. After the best date Arie has ever been on with Lauren as they adventured through Cusco, Peru, Arie once again was leaning towards Lauren. But of course, he changed his mind once again after his final date with Becca which was equally amazing. Once again, Arie claimed he was in love with both women and had to make the biggest decision of his life.
After many days of conflict, being in love with both women, Arie made what he thought was the right decision. Lauren stepped out of the limo with full confidence that she was going to walk away engaged. That’s when Arie had made the heartbreaking decision to send Lauren home in tears. Then as Becca walked up to Arie, just as confident as Lauren, Arie got down on one knee and proposed. And they lived happily ever after… not.
After a month of being “happily” engaged to Becca, Arie realized he couldn’t stop thinking about Lauren, and he knew she was the one. Watching the uncut and the unedited scene of Arie breaking it off with Becca, was one of the most heartbreaking and shocking moments in Bachelor history. With as much hate and anger I now felt towards Arie, it was definitely hard watching him go back for Lauren. It wasn’t long before Arie went to see Lauren and she immediately forgave him and chose to live the rest of her life with Arie. After this never ending heartbreaking episode of The Bachelor, I am sick of Arie and I am ready for Becca to find true love for herself.
“This season of the Bachelor was very dramatic to say the least,” said sophomore Kathryn Sweeter. “I am not impressed with Arie at all but I am happy to see Lauren find love, and I really have high hopes for Becca.”
