Hammocking szn is back

The hammocking trend continues as the weather starts to warm up and school comes to an end. It was a fad that started last year around this time and has yet to end. This trend seems to be so popular because of its relaxing and stress free appeal, perfect for students preparing for finals.

Hammocking is an easy and convenient way for kids to get together and hang out (both literally and figuratively) outside instead of sitting inside watching TV or staring at a phone. All one has to do is buy a hammock and find a set of trees to hang from.

“There is always going to be two trees that are just the right size for your hammock, which is nice,” said LHS senior Mollie Kelly. “I love how you can make your hammock either super high or super low depending on how you set your hammock up.”

Once one is done setting up your hammock and finding the perfect place, they can decide to bring other accessories with them to suit their needs.

“I always bring my BOSE speaker, a good drink and a blanket hammocking,” said Kelly. “It makes the hammock more comfy by far.”

While some like to bring their own music to listen to, others like to enjoy the nature effect with a few snacks too.

“I don’t like to bring a speaker because I like to enjoy the music from nature, but I do like to bring gushers and raspberry ice tea,” said LHS senior Graham Westra.

Another perk about hammocking is that students are able to study and do their homework in a new, yet comfortable, environment. With semester tests coming up soon, you can go study in your hammock while you enjoy some fresh air in a stress-free environment.
