I am the bearer of good news, you will not believe it, are you ready, guess what… the 2017-18 school year is coming to an end! HALLELUJAH.

As the student body anxiously awaits for June 1, I went out to see what students thought of this last school year. This school year had mixed reviews, due to our school schedule, homework loads and so on. Although, some had a more positive reaction to this last school year due to certain teachers, an open lunch and so on. So, how did this school year go for you?

“It was an amazing year full of laughs, tears, stresses and celebrations,” said junior Sydnaya Dunn. “And I wouldn’t change anything!”

Dunn enjoyed her second to last year at LHS, even though it was quite hectic. When also enrolled in a sport, like volleyball and basketball, staying on top of your life and your academics can be a struggle. Dunn was able to accomplish this, while continuing to be successful in school.

“This school year was lots of fun, but it was a lot more work than freshman year, for me,” said sophomore Gilbert DeWitt.

Overall, DeWitt agreed with Dunn on the fact that school is difficult, based on the requirements that a good student needs to fulfill, but aside from the work aspect, DeWitt thought that this year was fun in many ways.

Personally, my sophomore was mixed. The year was pretty smooth sailing, but harder classes makes for a harder year. Mostly, I am so excited for summer, so it is harder to continue putting in the needed effort, into my school work. Not to mention, like Dunn’s volleyball and basketball experience, I participated in tennis this last fall, which is hard to juggle with academics and a personal life.

Most of us could most likely agree on the fact that this summer is extremely valued. So, summer, if you are listening, you can show up at any point now.
