Since the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the importance of social distancing has intensified. However, with a surplus of free time comes a rise in boredom; keep yourself busy with this top 10 list of activities to do while social distancing.

  1. Clean up your surroundings:

With spare time on your hands, now is the perfect time to stop procrastinating and start cleaning something. Studies have proven that you are more productive when working in a clean workspace.

  1. FaceTime a friend:

Follow the social distancing rules by rekindling with your besties over a FaceTime call during the upcoming weeks.

  1. Be productive:

With the fourth-quarter approaching, our workload has a tendency to heighten. While at home, stay productive and complete online learning assignments or any other to-dos you may have.

  1. Re-explore past hobbies:

With the fast pace of everyday life, you may have lost time to do what you love. While staying home, refire your spark for your preferred pass times.

Ex: Play an instrument, read a book or create art.

  1. Exercise:

Our current state of lockdown can make staying fit a struggle. Take this time to complete a workout or some form of physical activity.

  1. Relax:

As the terrors of the COVID-19 virus occupy the majority of our thoughts, taking time to relax and decompress would eat up time and benefit your mental state. Try yoga, meditation or taking a bath.

  1. Cook/bake:

As restaurants begin to only offer carry out, indulging in restaurant cuisine becomes more difficult. To compensate for this, get creative and make your own meals. Cooking supplies a relief from the boredom along with a hopefully delicious end result.

  1. Binge a Netflix series:

Netflix, Disney +, Hulu and other providers contain a large array of binge-worthy movies and series that will suppress your boredom during the upcoming months.

Suggestions: “Love is Blind,” “All American,” “Friends,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Office.”

  1. Gamenight:

Dust off the old board games from the back of the shelf and enhance your social distancing with a family game night.

  1. Sleep:

Lastly, recover from the sleep deprivation that pursued throughout the school year and catch some Z’s during all of this downtime.
