Halloween is right around the corner, with the same old Kit-Kats, Reese’s cups and Milky Ways. You’d think my candy cravings would be fulfilled since Halloween has almost arrived but I am very disappointed— 2020 has been slacking on new candy. I cannot wait for the day that 2021 is here with new and improved candy. The candy shelves will be stocked with new flavors that will blow your sweet tooth away. 

The most popular candy brands are all coming out with new candy flavors in just a few months. For the chocolate lovers, Reese’s, Snickers and M&Ms are all releasing new items. Reese’s is coming out with a little spin on their world-famous Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Miniature pretzels are going to be added to the cups to add some crunch. Pretzels, peanut butter and chocolate are a common food combination that usually people cannot pass down. Reese’s will also unveil new peanut butter lovers cups and new chocolate lovers cups. These will give each consumer a chance to get the perfect ratio of peanut butter to chocolate. 

Another candy that is hitting the shelves very soon is a chocolaty, creamy bar. Snickers Peanut Brownie Edition is a candy bar that is going to blow you away. The two best things are in one bar: brownies and peanut butter. Snickers is already one of the world’s most famous candy bars, so adding on this spin is going to make people go crazy. Another candy that will soon be on everyone’s shelf is the M&Ms Mix. I never know what M&Ms to choose from, milk chocolate, peanut, or peanut butter, so now that they are going to have three in one, there will be no need to decide. 

For non-chocolate lovers, there are two new fruity candy flavors that you probably will enjoy. This past year Hi-Chew has become a very popular small, sweet treat. Strawberry Lemonade Hi-Chew is a new candy flavor releasing in 2021. Another fun candy that is coming out in 2021 is Laffy Taffy Laff Bites Gone Bananas. This candy is going to be a poppable mini Laffy Taffy with an extra pop of flavor hidden inside. The banana flavored Laffy Taffy is definitely one of the most popular flavors, and by giving them their own bag it is going to increase their sales for sure. A candy that I will not be adding to my Halloween stash will be the new Peeps Hot Tamale Fierce Cinnamon Flavored Chicks. This fascinating combination is one I do not see many people trying out. Hot Tamales and Peeps are two candies that people either love or hate, so combining them is a very bold move. 

I always look forward to Halloween and the new candy options, but this year’s candy is such a disappointment. Although, 2021 candy is going to shock lots of people. Hopefully, next year’s candy options will add some spook and spice to your stash.
