Senior year is the busiest year of high school. Seniors have many responsibilities that come along with being a senior, such as college applications, trying to decide what food to have at their grad parties and senior pictures. Senior pictures can be very stressful. Whether it be about who takes them, what to wear, what poses to do or where to take them, seniors are left with a lot of questions. Below is a list of several locations in Sioux Falls where you can take senior pictures.

Nature Lovers’ Locations: 

Arrowhead Park: Arrowhead Park is located just south of Willow Run Golf Course in East Sioux Falls. It is named after a large arrowhead-shaped quarry which is one of the many great places to take pictures. The park has a large number of trails and a prairie-like landscape with many beautiful backdrops. There is also a restored historical barn which is also a great place to use as a backdrop for pictures.  

Outdoor campus: The Outdoor Campus is very similar to Arrowhead Park in that it is a very scenic space with walking trails. It features wildlife, many different plants and the famous sunflower field that has been featured on many Instagram posts. Overall, a very good place for outdoor pictures with a wide variety of backdrops. 

Good Earth State Park: Good Earth State Park is a very unique nature retreat in southeast Sioux Falls. According to South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, it consists of the river, abundant wildlife and fertile floodplains. Similar to the parks mentioned above, the park includes several walking trails as well as nature playscapes and historical sites, giving the park many different options for senior pictures. 

McKennan Park: According to Experience Sioux Falls, South Dakota, “Sioux Falls’ oldest developed park, McKennan is the crown jewel of parks.” McKennan Park gives seniors plenty of options for backdrops, including the Mediterranean Sunken Gardens, a restored bandshell, basketball court, tennis courts and a wide variety of beautiful flowers throughout the park. 

Downtown Sioux Falls Locations:

Parking Garage: This location is very simple and is perfect for all types of senior pictures. There is a lot of room to make this location your own and have fun with it. 

State Theatre: According to the Sioux Falls State Theatre, “The Sioux Falls State Theatre is the last jewel in the crown of historic downtown.” The outside of the theatre is a great place for senior pictures. It is a unique background for senior pictures with the marquee being the main feature of the theatre. The building itself offers a look into what downtown Sioux Falls was like in the 1920s, which makes it a distinctive background for senior pictures. 

Sculpture Walk: Simply walking around downtown one can find many locations for senior pictures. The famous sculpture walk gives many options for senior pictures with over 55 sculptures that can be a creative part of the pictures.

Orpheum: The Orpheum is a fairly famous spot for senior pictures in downtown. Its roof of lights that shine down give any senior picture a unique background with many options to be creative with the pictures.
