Cameron takes on the LHS life

The king himself, Cameron, is in his room before school.

Christopher Cameron is a first-year teacher at LHS, but has plenty of experience after teaching Chemistry and Physics at RHS for four years. While juggling teaching, planning lessons and everything else that comes with being a teacher of two classes, Cameron does a great job of overcoming both throughout the day. Cameron was one of the few teachers that moved to LHS, following the boundary changes that happened this past year. Although it was not his decision to move schools, maybe it was just a chance of luck.

“I like it here. Both schools have a very similar vibe, which I also like a lot. I would not go back to RHS. Especially now because LHS is a lot closer to my home and makes my routine a lot easier. I definitely do not miss traveling across town every single morning,” said Cameron.

Cameron is involved with a couple of hobbies outside of his second home, LHS. It may be hard to believe that a teacher has a social life because they are commonly overwhelmed with activities or objectives for school but he makes the most out of the time that he gets to himself.

“I am big into traveling. My girlfriend lives in Denver, CO. I travel there almost every weekend,” said Cameron. “I typically go to hot yoga every morning, it gives me a good start to my day. In the summer, I love to go for hikes and enjoy the nice weather when I can.”

One of Cameron’s very good friends, Braden Bradfield owns Revolution and is one of the main instructors of the Yoga and Cycle classes. Cameron spends a lot of his free time breaking a sweat in the yoga studio before school.

With most of his weekends being spent out of town, this leaves him with plenty of time to be engaged with his social life, instead of his school life. Cameron balances his work and social status pretty well, from endless yoga classes to hours of lesson plans. On top of everything else, he is also earning his Doctorate degree in leadership at USF.

“I am handling everything pretty well. The last few months have been going by so fast and school has been taking up a lot of my time. Other than that, I have been tackling everything with a positive attitude because if I didn’t, it would be a lot harder to get everything done,” said Cameron.
