I believe that with hope, one day our world will find the harmony that we desire.

I believe that our generation will make the change that the world desires.

I believe that after decades of disharmony, all of the hate will find peace and come to a rightful end. One day, people will stop waking up afraid of what may unfold in the near future and feel a secure sense of safety within the walls of the country we live in.

I believe that our generation has grown up better acquainted and familiarized with the modern problems of the world, compared to any generation previously. And because of this, we are ready to make a long-awaited change.

I believe that despite the stereotypes of being the “social media” and “technology-influenced” generation, there is more to us than a digitized screen. All of the technology we have grown up around has made us  outspoken and confident when it comes to political standpoints. As we connect with the world around us on technology and watch everything out of our grasp unveil, we take it in, observe and learn how to be better than the mistakes that have been made in the past. When we look to our future, we are weighed down by the problems, not of our own, but the ones created by others before us. The issues created by citizens of the world who did not consider how their actions may affect the people around them, much less the effects of the future.

I believe that the past generations are the ones who aided in creating this national dispute we have found ourselves intertwined in. And that generations before us aided in disrupting the economy, draining nature’s abundant resources, segregating citizens of the world and sparking war that created a fire of hate in the world.

I believe that finding peace with one another in the world, making efforts to create a healthier world, standing up for equality and learning to love one another will ultimately make the change this country desires.

I believe that although the place we call home may feel hopeless right now, the best is yet to come.
