Missing Alabama fugitive and officer on the run
May 9, 2022
Less than two weeks ago on April 29, Casey White, 38, an Alabama inmate, and Vicky White, 56, a former corrections officer fled the prison and have not been seen since. Although the two share the same last name, the pair had no relationship known to others before their time of escape.
Suspicions first arose about their whereabouts when Casey never made it to the courthouse for a scheduled mental health evaluation. Casey was arrested on murder charges back in 2015 and is supposed to serve 75 years in prison. He was being escorted by Vicky alone, which is a violation of known policy. When no one was able to contact her for a few hours after they had not been seen, other authorities realized that the pair had gone missing. Later it was found out that there never was a mental health evaluation scheduled, and that this was the first part of their plan to escape together.
They had left together in a patrol car, but not long after, it was found abandoned in a parking lot where it is believed that Vicky had parked a different car, one that they could leave in. This car has since been found and identified as a copper-colored, 2007 Ford Edge. However, it is believed that this car was abandoned because it was having difficulties. A new potential car that they could be in is unknown.
It has also been recently discovered that prior to their escape, Vicky had made a lot of big life and financial decisions. She had recently sold her home for half its market value at $95,000 and had also sold her car. Vicky had even filled out paperwork to officially retire from the force, but it had not yet been finalized. Her vast knowledge of how the police department works is working against other deputies, as their plan of escape was clearly well thought out and had been in the works for a while.
Deputies are telling the public to look out for the two, and if they are seen, to immediately call the police. They are said to be very dangerous as they are believed to be carrying many weapons between the two of them. Casey also stands very tall, at 6’9, so he should be a very recognizable individual. A reward of $10,000 is out for information that leads to Casey and $5,000 for Vicky. The police want answers and safety for all, so it is in everyone’s best interest to keep an eye out for both of them.
