The hit show, “Stranger Things,” follows a group of teenagers teaming up to stop monsters and save the day, but how good was each season?

Season one started with the introduction of each character, the main ones being Will, Nancy, Steve, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven, Hopper, Joyce, and Jonathan. The season starts with Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will playing their favorite game, Dungeons & Dragons; later, on his way home, Will is kidnapped and the story begins. Within this season we meet Eleven (who they call El) and figure out she was a part of some scientific experiments, giving her special abilities. The plot was great and the characters were wholesome and acted like true friends, making viewers feel hopeful for everything to work out for the characters. This season is an 8/10 for a good plot but it loses two points because the story takes some time to get interesting.

Next is season two, when the truths of their small town begins to come to light. Season one ended with El disappearing and everyone assuming she is dead, but she is still alive and living with Hopper. They also found Will in the Upside Down which is an alternate dimension of their own town. We also meet two new characters: Billy and Max, who are siblings who moved from California to Hawkins, Indiana. While Max tries to become friends with the boys, Will has visions of the upside down and El leaves Hopper’s to find her mom. Overall, this season was very sporadic and had various plot lines  adding confusion and begging the question, “What is happening?” This season is at best a 6.5/10 because the characters were still close friends and the plots were interesting, but there was just too much going on.

Season three, probably the best season, starts with Max and El becoming friends and Billy being possessed by the Mind Flayer (the newest villain). We also meet Robin, an employee at the ice cream shop along with Steve. The end of the season leaves Dustin, Steve, Robin, and Erica (Lucas’s little sister) trapped in a Russian base and Max, El, Mike, Will, Nancy, and Jonathan fighting off monsters. This season gets a 10/10 because of how the season was put together. It was funny and action-packed and everything fit together well. The plots also lined up, unlike season two. Even though the characters were not in the same place, the storyline still made sense.

Finally, we have season four, which is horror-filled compared to all the other seasons. For the whole season, Hopper is in a Russian work camp; Jonathan, Will, Mike, and El are in California where she gets taken by the people who performed the tests on her. Back in Hawkins, Will, Robin, Dustin, Steve, Lucas, Max, and Eddie (the newest member) try to uncover the secrets of gruesome murders around the town. They find out it is the most dangerous creature from the Upside Down, Vecna. This final season gets a 9/10 because of how suspenseful and heart-wrenching it is Just like in season three, the characters are not together but are instead states apart, but the directors were able to connect the characters naturally. However, a point was docked due to the distance between characters and their lack of friendship. . This concludes the rating of the seasons in “Stranger Things.”
