According to Google, Feb. 14 is a day on which it is traditional to send a card, often anonymously, to a person one is romantically involved or attracted to. Although the day is traditionally thought to be limited to such, it can be fun to go outside of the norms and celebrate Valentine’s Day, whether one is in a romantic relationship or not. Here are five fun things to do on Valentine’s Day for everyone to enjoy.
#1 Galentine’s party
A recent trend on Valentine’s Day is to spend it with your friends. The word play on Gals, which refers to you and your friends, makes Valentine’s Day into a fun way to spend time with your friends. Run to your local shopping center and pick up some cute Valentine’s Day decorations and heart-shaped food, then make a day out of celebrating your love for your friends.
#2 Go to dinner
Whether it is with your significant other or somebody else, make a reservation and have a nice dinner. Any restaurant will be busy on this day, so make sure to make your reservation quick and enjoy good food on a night out with someone special.
#3 Movie night
Some will argue Rom-coms are the best movies, and I would have to agree. Either make a date out of going to a movie theater, or run to the grocery store, pick up some fun snacks and binge-watch your favorite romantic movies in honor of the special day.
#4 Crafts
Crafts are a fun way to spend time with your significant other. You can create something sentimental that will remind you of them while also logging some quality time, what a win! You could make fun cards, a scrapbook, paintings or any other craft you can find. Target and Walmart both have pre-made crafts for a low price. This would be a great option to spend time with someone while doing something fun.
#5 Become a chef
Another fun way to spend time with your significant other or friends is to make food. Spend Valentine’s Day cooking cute pink or heart-themed foods. Some ideas include heart-shaped cookies, pink-colored smoothies or chocolate-covered strawberries. This is a fun way to spend time with them while making both yummy food and fond memories.
