The movie “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” was released Aug. 17. 2018, which then had two follow up movies continuing the plot.
This movie is about a high school girl named Lara Jean whose secret love letters about her past crushes were mysteriously mailed out, forcing her to face many problems she never thought she would. She often relies on her older sister Margo, who unfortunately moved away to college right before she started her junior year of high school, making it harder than ever to confront her problems. She also struggled because her mom died in the past, causing her to live with her father and younger sister named Kitty.
Five letters were sent out by Kitty after she noticed Lara Jean’s loneliness . But the two letters that mattered the most were Peter Kavinsky and Josh Sanderson. This is because Josh recently dated Margo, but it harshly ended when she moved to Scotland for college. The letter that got sent out to Peter later caused many problems between the two, which led them to start a fake relationship. This was to make Peter’s ex-girlfriend jealous and also so Josh wouldn’t question her about the letter that got sent to him. But she could only avoid it for so long because Josh was determined to get answers.
Lara Jean and Peter made a contract for their fake relationship, which caused it to last longer than they both thought it would. Although there were some bumps in the road, their fake relationship led to many amazing things, such as a genuine friendship between them, which then later led to a real relationship, causing Peter to leave his old girlfriend for good and Lara Jean to forget about Josh. It also taught them many valuable lessons.
Throughout the movie, Lara Jean learns many lessons about love, friendship and family. She also learns that her fantasies will do her no good if she does not put any action to them. Without her sister’s assistance, she would still be a lonely junior who eats lunch by herself and hangs out with her sister for fun.
