The wings are back on the angels after the 2025 Victoria’s Secret fashion show comeback.
Strutting their way back onto the catwalk on Oct 15. 2025, the models came back for their annual fashion show. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is a wildly successful event that features a new line of products and consistently draws crowds thanks to its eye-catching and unique presentation style. The models, known as Victoria’s Secret Angels, each presented numerous different looks. This year, the show was a total comeback and has been receiving raving reviews, but why?
This fashion show, like many others, had a theme. This year it was “day-to-night.” In homage to the brand’s mission for the year, the theme presented a brand “reawakening.” After recent unsuccessful rebrands, the company had a goal of regaining its past stamina this year. They used new styling strategies and models to do so. Jasmine Tookes opened the show this year, making history as the first ever model to open the show visibly pregnant. Also including Olympian gymnast Suni Lee and WNBA pro Angel Reese as models, the brand gained new audiences and regained many of its previous long-time supporters.
The brand got its glow back after the controversial show last year, consequently bringing women back into its stores. During the show, the brand focuses on showcasing its main product: women’s lingerie/undergarments. New sets and styles appear on the models, crowned with a matching pair of angel wings or styled accessories. This iconic emblem gives the brand its own unique way of showing off its new lines. The actual lingerie was far more appealing, style-wise and demographically, receiving nearly no distaste.
Even with its way higher success rate than last year, the show still faced much criticism. Being known for its unmatchable energy, fearless walks and tousled hair, the expectations for the show are always high; however, general feelings of disappointment are also making their way around. Many are finding that the new generation of models (with some of the originals) is not putting enough effort into the show or their craft. The demeanor and power of the models are boring the show slightly with a lack of inspiration for their walks. Although a step up from last year, the show is losing its celebrated commanding struts.
Personally, I found the performances given by the artists also a bit drab. While the artists themselves were not completely terrible, they were not relevant and lacked connection to the show and trends of the year. The performances were too long without enough models going out during them, especially towards the end. I lost interest and would have thought the show was incredible if it included more popular music and artists that attracted younger potential consumers. These changes would have left the show with a more positive view in my eyes. The critics can go on, but many are small attributes that are more a matter of personal opinion, which is part of the brand’s recent issues, as it tries to keep its aging demographic while also attracting young consumers.
Many types of people would be interested in the show, but the main audience is consistently and currently women and will continue to be women. This is largely because the products are made exclusively for women, and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is only showcasing women models with a female audience in mind. I would mainly recommend this for women, particularly younger women and mid-to-late teenagers, as they are the most likely to buy the product and know of the models outside of just the show. The show is back on the rise and is headed in the right direction and will continue being successful for years to come.
