Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Spinsters dance was canceled. However, EmBe still wanted to honor the voted Spinsters Royalty members as they would if the dance had happened. This year’s LHS Spinsters king and queen are Michael Alex and Julia Soko.

Alex, the LHS Spinsters king, was very excited to hear the news of winning Spinsters Royalty for his school. Alex’s nomination for Spinsters Royalty was not surprising, due to his many friends and his involvement at LHS.

“It feels amazing to win Spinsters Royalty,” said Alex. “I’ve always wanted to win since I first attended Spinsters my freshman year. I think I was nominated because I know a lot of people and I’m friends with them too.”

Over the last four years at LHS, Alex has involved himself in several sports and extracurriculars. These activities have helped him create friendships and make high school memorable.

“Throughout my years at Lincoln I was involved in soccer, track, basketball and

Collision,” said Alex. “My most memorable experience was winning State for soccer in 2017. I still remember everything from that night.”

After experiencing all four years of high school, Alex is now knowledgeable about what is important during high school. His advice to underclassmen is what he learned throughout his own experiences in high school.
“I would advise the underclassman to keep pushing themselves and to leave their comfort zone,” said Alex. “To try new things and always do whatever makes them happy.”

The LHS Spinsters king has been impacted greatly by his time at LHS. Alex has developed greatly as a person through both sports and classes.

“Lincoln has made me the person I am today,” said Alex. “It has given me a great bond with friends that I never expected. Lincoln has made me become a better person, not just physically from sports, but also academically.”
