The highlight of spooky season
October 21, 2021
Thrills and chills await people this October at ValleySCARE. Amusement park Valley Fair switches gears for the Halloween season, changing their name from Valley Fair to ValleySCARE and filling the park with tons of festive decorations.
Valley Fair is an amusement park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The park is filled with a variety of thrilling rides and even a section devoted for kids called Planet Snoopy. In order to get people in the spirit for Halloween, they put on this event ensuring people will leave terrified and sleeping with the lights on.
ValleySCARE is available Oct. 2, 2021 through Oct. 31, 2021 Fridays and Saturdays only. The days are counting down quickly, so customers wanting to go better get tickets before time runs out. The park is open from two to 11 p.m. “Monsters,” otherwise known as workers, dressed in creepy costumes are released around the park at 7 p.m. As soon as the sun sets, smoke machines fill the air and customers get surprised by the monsters in areas called scare zones. These are specific parts of the park that have dim lighting, spooky music and smoke coming from fog machines. All these things work together to make sure workers can scare customers when they least expect it. At this time the doors to the haunted houses also open. Lines fill up quickly, so be prepared to spend some time waiting.
There are a few different haunted houses set up throughout the park, each one with their own theme. On top of these haunted houses, the park also offers a few haunted mazes each one also with their own theme. Another attraction available at the park is their variety of shows. The shows are available a few different hours of the night and are set up outside. Customers wondering by can stop to enjoy a spooky show. Instagram lovers will find many opportunities to take photos as there are many photo ops set up around the park. If people get chilly and need a bit of warmth, there is hot apple cider being sold for three dollars in the edible cookie dough food truck.
For those who want to experience the festivities of the park, but do not necessarily want to be scared, they can enjoy The Great Pumpkin Feast. The Great Pumpkin Feast is available on Saturdays and Sundays. This event is catered more toward kids, but is open to anyone wanting to enjoy trick-or-treating, costume parades and fun zones instead of scare zones. Customers can even walk through the haunted house before they are filled by the haunters. No jump scares or creepy lighting. People are simply able to walk through the houses and see how they are set up. These tours are available a few different times throughout the day.
Nonetheless, whether people are in need of a great scare or just want to experience some halloween festivities, ValleySCARE is an all around great place to come have some fun for the halloween season. Customers will leave feeling extremely spooked and in the Halloween spirit.
