As much as us humans would like to believe we are the best and most successful species on this planet, we are far from perfect when it comes to our bodies. Here are just a few things that I would change to make us just a little bit better.

Height: Humans have simply gotten too tall. By decreasing the average height of humans, we would functionally increase the efficiency of our hearts, decrease the amount of food needed to survive and promote more compact living. To adapt to a world rapidly losing resources, we have got to get shorter.

Teeth: One of the most universally hated experiences us humans share has to be going to the dentist. From wisdom teeth removal and braces, to cavity filling and root canals, I think we can all agree that there are quite a few areas for improvement. I would start by having babies being born with a full set of teeth. Naturally, to accommodate for this, we would have to increase the size of their mouths. From there, I would change the composition of our teeth from pulp, dentin, enamel and cementum to stainless steel.

Wings: I want us all to have wings. They would be so cool and fun, and would save time and gas money by making cities more easily navigable.

Male nipples: Yeah just get rid of em’.

Fingers: One of the reasons that humans have been able to get to the point we have is due to our high levels of dexterity. Much of this credit is owed to our opposable thumbs. But, why stop at just two? I propose six on each hand, replacing all existing fingers and one additional thumb in the middle of the hand.

Wider hips: One of the most obvious flaws about the human body is how narrow a woman’s hips are in relation to a newborn’s head. While giving birth is a seamless process to many other animals, for humans it is an intensive process, and considered one of the most painful experiences a human can possibly have. Luckily, our bodies come with love hormones emitted after giving birth, helping to mitigate the trauma, but I think we could all agree that it would be best to just not have such intense pain in the first place.

Toenails: Toenails may have been applicable in the past for extra traction, but in a modern world, they are little more than a nuisance. Feet are generally considered one of the grossest parts of the human body, and I believe that toenails are a large part of this. In addition to the pain caused by accidentally kicking your own ankle, I can see little reason to keep these things around.
