Remedy Brewing Co. opened its new pickleball pub on Jan. 18 2024.

This January, Remedy Brewing Co. opened its new pickleball complex in downtown Sioux Falls. Pickleball has been rapidly increasing in popularity throughout recent years; because it is playable by people of all ages, the sport has become a fun activity for many.
Pickleball has been a played sport for a while, estimated to have been created around 1965. However, it has not been until the past even just five years that it truly picked up popularity. The game has switched from a sport mainly played by older people to one loved and practiced by people of all ages. This shift in popularity can even be seen in Sioux Falls: there are numerous leagues, as well as teens and adults alike playing outside if the weather is nice enough.
The city’s new pickleball complex was made by and is attached to the Remedy Brewing Company. The space includes four indoor cement pickleball courts. They also have paddles available as well as amenities like a restroom, snacks and drinks, plus the courts are wheelchair accessible. On top of this, there is also a menu to order food and beverages from Remedy’s restaurant which is located right next to the courts. The restaurant is located at 401 E 8th St Unit 120, Sioux Falls, SD 57103, and the new courts are situated directly behind the restaurant.
The courts are currently available 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. To play there is a one-time membership fee of $5 for one person, $10 for couples and $20 for families. Additionally, there is an hourly charge per hour spent playing.
Remedy is also planning pickleball tournaments and social events, the next tournament is this coming April 15. They have also hosted training sessions and social events to celebrate the new building. Aside from just pickleball, Remedy also often hosts bingo nights to win prizes and has other outdoor activities, as well as band performances and events at the restaurant.
This new space is a great place for both families and friends to come together and play, as it is indoors it is not affected by weather, along with this the lines on the courts are permanent so players do not have to draw their own chalk lines on tennis courts like many places in town.
Despite the ease of these new indoor nets, there are still many other places throughout town to play for a cheaper cost or no cost at all. There are several other indoor and outdoor courts throughout town, along with the many tennis courts that can be played on too. However, the new remedy courts are a fun new area to improve pickleball skills. The courts are also a great spot to play as there are many different seating areas to rest as well as lots of food and drinks. Overall, these new pickleball courts are not just a great spot to play but to socialize as well.
