Sioux Falls is a city full of new experiences waiting to be discovered. Here are some fun activities to do this summer right here in Sioux Falls.

Watching the Sioux Falls Storm is a great opportunity for a fun night out during the summer. The Storm is one of 14 teams that compete in the IFl (Indoor Football League). Since they host their games indoors, the field is much smaller than a normal football field. This leads to much higher-scoring games and a more energetic environment. For example, the last game the Storm played was against the Green Bay Blizzards. The final score was 35-48 which is a higher-scoring game than one would expect going to a NFL game. While the Storm have started their season off with a 0-4 record, they will have plenty of time to make up for lost ground this summer as they compete almost every week on Friday or Saturday.

Another fun opportunity this summer, especially for families, is the Catfish Bay Waterski Park – Greatest Show on H20. The show takes place every Friday starting at 7 p.m. and includes many different varieties of skiing such as pyramids, trick skiing and barefooting – the act of skiing without any skis. The show also has a skit that goes along with the waterskiing, making it an extremely fun environment. Dawson Whallen, senior at LHS, has skied in the show since he was a kid.

“Catfish Bay is a one-of-a-kind experience. It is one of the secret wonders of Sioux Falls. We have tons of variety and you will see things you might not even know were possible,” said Whallen. “It is a guaranteed great time for family and friends.”

There are also many concerts at the Denny Sanford Premier Center this summer. Some of the artists performing at the Denny include Whiskey Myers, Lauren Daigle, Chris Stapleton and Tim McGraw. There are also going to be a couple of comedians performing this summer including Nate Bargatze’sBe Funny Tour” and Jim Gaffigan’sBarely Alive Tour.”

If one is interested in more of a lowkey summer concert, look no further than the Levitt at the Falls. Opening in 2019, the Levitt has gradually gained popularity in the area. Starting on May 31, the Levitt will host summer concerts every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night until August 31. Throughout the summer the Levitt will host over 50 free concerts featuring local musicians.
