Going loco for the hoco shirts

A member of every class repping their class t-shirts through the last day of homecoming on Friday, Sep. 15 and later that evening at the football game!

Every year for Homecoming each grade at LHS has a class shirt uniquely designed for them. Each year there is a different design for each grade, but the colors are the same. Freshmen are red, sophomores are white, juniors are blue and seniors are black. Here is my honest review on each class shirt design for Homecoming 2023:

Freshmen: 5/10

The word I would use to describe this shirt is mediocre. To be fair, I do not expect much from the freshman shirts because there is no way their shirts should be better than the seniors. The shirt is red with bubble letters that say “Freshman class of 2027.” There is nothing really exciting about it, but I cannot say it is bad either. They are not able to design their own shirts for the first year, so it makes sense that they are basic. For this reason, I award the freshman shirt a 5/10. Freshmen can look forward to an awesome shirt their senior year.

Sophomore: 6/10

The sophomore shirt starts to get a little more interesting, yet still are not at an alpha level. This shirt is white with a guitar drawing and letters that say “Sophomores class of 2026.” The guitar design starts to fit in with a music theme and tries to imitate Hard Rock Cafe, so I award it a little higher score than the freshman shirts, because at least it has a theme. This shirt receives a score of 6/10 because sophomores are still underclassmen so they can not receive all the glory.

Junior: 9/10

The junior shirt is where LHS starts to reveal its level of creativity. This shirt is blue with a polaroid of Abraham Lincoln and the caption  “Juniors class of 2025.” For those who did not know, the shirt is an ode to Taylor Swift as it recreates her album cover for “1989.” This might be the best collab yet: LHS and Taylor Swift. This shirt is relevant and fun, so I award it a 9/10.

Senior: 11/10

This shirt is 100% the best one of all the classes. The seniors who created the shirts went beyond my expectations, which is why I crowned this shirt the best one with a rating of an 11/10. It is black with the design from Taylor Swift’s eras tour, except for it is Abraham Lincoln instead of Taylor Swift. Again, may be one of the best combos of all time. This shirt gives every senior at LHS the opportunity to get an eras tour shirt. Even for those who are not Taylor Swift fans, it is still a cool looking shirt to rep.
