Born to Yap!

Amanda and Niah not only share their funny thoughts, but encourage others through their inspirational words.

“Born to Yap!” is a podcast made by Amanda Smith and Niah Hudson. Their inspiration to create a podcast came from their enjoyment of talking about funny and relatable christian topics. At first, building their podcast was a joke, but once they found how easy and fun podcasts were to create, their journey began.

“Our inspiration about what to talk about comes from sitting with each other and thinking about things we can talk about for long periods of time and also about what we hope others will want to hear,” said Smith. “We just sit down and yap from there.”

Ironically, they originally had a different name planned for their podcast. It was when they first started recording their first episode, “Everything happens for a reason,” co-host Niah Hudson explained, “we were basically born to yap,” Smith immediately knew that was the perfect name.

In their first episode, “Everything happens for a reason,” they touch on their christian beliefs about how everything happens for a reason. They discuss the importance of finding purpose in bad situations to help us grow. Throughout the episode, they offer practical tips and advice on navigating life’s challenges with a positive and hopeful attitude. Overall, “Everything Happens for a Reason” is an inspiring episode that will leave you feeling empowered and ready to tackle whatever comes your way.

One of the characteristics that sets “Born to Yap!” apart from other podcasts is its ability to connect with its listeners. In their most recent episode, “LHS parking scandal,” they explain their thoughts and beliefs on how the parking works here at LHS. This episode is quite different from their first episode and shows the hosts’ humorous side.

In addition to their podcast, “Born to Yap!” has an active social media presence, where they post updates behind the scenes and interact with their listeners. Since the first episode in January, “Born to Yap!” has sparked interest among many at LHS. The chemistry between the hosts makes the podcast enjoyable and worth the listen.
